Mepal Parish Council

Mepal Play Park now open!

Following recent offers of assistance by a number of residents and completion of some maintenance work to remove damaged equipment, we are pleased to report that the Mepal Play Park located at the Laurel Close end of the Recreation Field has now re-opened. The Play Park is able to remain open (subject to any Government guidelines) as a result of the voluntary daily inspections taking place but  please comply with any relevant government restrictions in place and remember that the current lockdown rules will last until 2nd December.  Cambridgeshire falls into Tier 2 restrictions from that date, which will mean that you must not socialise in a group of more than 6 people outside (the ‘rule of 6’). Please follow the rules and share this space with others in a safe way that is within these rules.

There are guidelines in place for safely using the facilities at this time, listed below and also displayed on posters at our sites. Please use these areas responsibly.

  • DO NOT use the play areas if you have symptoms of Coronavirus.
  • Follow current social distancing guidelines.
  • Clean your equipment before and after use.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before and after your visit.
  • Bring hand sanitiser or wipes to use while at the play areas.
  • If the play area is too busy, please come back later.
  • Do not touch your face – catch any coughs/ sneezes in a tissue and dispose of in the bin.
  • Do not consume food or drink in the play area.
