Additional highways repairs to footpath 7 section from the Church to the Three Pickerels

Mepal Parish Councillors have just been made aware by residents social media posts that work to repair the footpath running from the Church to the Three Pickerels has been commenced by Cambridge County Council Highways today. We would like to advise that the Parish Council had not received advance notice of the commencement of the path replacement work which was deemed necessary by CCC following a number of complaints by residents regarding the general state of the path.

The Parish Council have been in discussion with County Highways who are responsible for the upkeep of this footpath to try to get the repairs carried out but we did not have any time indications of if or when this was likely to occur so have unfortunately not been able to get any advance warning out to the village. Hopefully this will be completed quickly and will be of minimal disruption and we can enjoy the new path soon!
