Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) to 31/03/2026 – Public Notice

Following comments circulating on social media, the Parish Council would like to clarify the arrangements for the publication of its Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR).

The Council has complied with its statutory obligations by publishing the Notice of Public Rights and the unaudited AGAR on the Parish Council website, as in all other years . In addition, the Notice of Public Rights has been displayed on the parish noticeboard.

There is no legal requirement for parish councils to issue separate notifications via newsletters or social media when the AGAR is published. The legislation requires the relevant documents to be published and made available for inspection during the specified period.

During the public inspection period, local electors have the right to inspect the Council’s accounting records and supporting documents in accordance with the published Notice of Public Rights.

The Parish Council is committed to transparency and welcomes any questions regarding its finances. Copies of the AGAR, the Notice of Public Rights and other financial documents are available on the Council’s website under the Finance section.
