Closure of A142 Mepal Viaduct/Bridge
Please be advised these works started on Friday 06.06.2025.
Due to operational difficulties and clashes with other works utilising the network one weekend shift will start on the Saturday morning as opposed to the Friday night. As a precaution due to this lost time a 5th weekend has been booked in to ensure the required works can be completed, however if this is not required or only one day of that weekend is required, then the closure period will reflect and road re-opened ASAP thereafter.
We should be able to offer a definitive on this as the project progresses in a few weeks.
For clarity, the working window and subsequent road/ bridge closure is:
06/06 20:00 to 05:00 09/06
13/06 20:00 to 05:00 16/06
20/06 20:00 to 05:00 23/06
28/06 08:00 to 05:00 30/06
04/07 20:00 to 05:00 07/07 – Only if required/ reduced duration.
Advance notice signs advertising these works are being positioned.
