Mepal Grit Bins – fault reporting

The grit bins in mepal are maintained by Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) and the bins are filled at the start of the winter season by the highways department of CCC. They are intended to be used only for public roads and footpaths. If you spot a grit bin that is empty or running low, please let CCC know through  their online reporting tool. You will need to pinpoint the location of the grit bin on the map and select the problem type ‘Winter maintenance’. The bin will be filled as soon as we have the resources to do so.

To report a bin that has been damaged please also use the tool to pinpoint the location, select Winter Maintenance and Grit bin needs filling and then in the description filed report any damage. You can also upload a photo to show the problem.
