Petition to Fund Repairs to Cambridgeshire’s Soil-Affected Roads

Charlotte Cane, Member of Parliament for Ely and East Cambridgeshire has asked us to share with you a new petition she has launched calling for urgent action and fair funding to repair fen‑soil affected roads across Cambridgeshire.

Even if Mepal is not directly affected by fen‑soil subsidence, the high cost of repairing these roads is placing significant pressure on the county’s highways budget, meaning less funding is available for other roads across the network, so we have been asked to circulate the petition to your parishioners. The more residents who sign, the stronger the case becomes for securing the investment Cambridgeshire urgently needs.
