Parish Council Meetings

The Parish Council meet in the Mepal Community Pavilion. The Pavilion is located on the edge of the Recreation Field that is bordered by Chestnut Way & Laurel Close, New Road and Witcham Road. Parking is available and there is pedestrian access via a footpath and entrance off Witcham Road, or via the access to the Mepal Parish Council operated Play Park and across the field. Extraordinary meetings may be arranged to discuss planning applications or anything else urgent.

The meeting dates for 2026 are detailed in the listing below, with the meeting information for the last two meetings in 2025 included for ease of access. The agenda and minutes for all previous meetings are now archived and the link to search the archived documents is underneath the meetings table, via Documents.

Can I speak at the parish council meetings?
You cannot speak while the normal business of the meeting is being conducted. However, we include a public participation section on our agenda. This allows some time at the meeting for members of the public to address the council on an issue that concerns them and this is built into our Standing Orders which can be read here. Normally if you wish to speak it should be relevant to an item included on the agenda. If you wish to raise anything which is not on the agenda you are advised to contact the council’s clerk in writing, and if the matter cannot be resolved by correspondence, it will be  included on a future meeting agenda. Any matters that impact existing policies with financial consequences will normally only be discussed at the November or December budget meetings each year. Councillors cannot make decisions on anything which is not included on the agenda. The clerk can provide you with further details as to how this works.
